Entrepreneurs and business minded people seek motivation and inspiration in everything they do. Movies can be very useful too. Here a list of movie that I think everyone should see because they might change your perspective towards life.
1. The Pursuit of Happyness
The Pursuit of Happyness is a story of Christopher Gardner, a single raising father portrayed by Will Smith, who does everything he can to stay in his son’s life and offer him the best for the future. Since he met his own dad at the age of 28, he knows how it is to have no father figure in life. The title matches the movie perfectly because Christopher is shown struggling from day to day until he even ends up sleeping in a toilet. If you think it’s time for you to give up, watch this movie and you’ll be pumped with new energy when you’re done.
2. Remember the Titans
Herman Boone, who is portrayed by Denzel Washington, is hired to lead the school’s football team. Since his predecessor was a white man, the white team players pledge to boycott the team if their former coach does not participate in the team’s activities. Because of the fear of his former players loosing their scholarships, Bill Yoast, who is the former coach, decides to become the defensive coordinator. Boone notices notices very fast that certain team players don’t get along and uses his methods of training to force them into becoming a team. He doesn’t want them to like another, but to respect each other. As a dedicated coach, he states many times that he’s here to win. This based on a true story occasion is great if you seek motivation in any type of sports.
3. October Sky
This is the story of a boy known by the name of Homer Hickam, who didn’t want to live his life according to his father’s imagination. The mine superintendent, John Hickam, loves his job and expects his sons Jim and Homer to lead their lives in the same way. When Jim receives a football scholarship, Homer is the only one left to fulfill the father’s dream. This sign of hope however also starts to fade away when Homer finds his fascination for rockets and decides to build one by himself. With his father opposing him and telling him that his dream is “trash”, Homer tries to keep his dream alive and does many experiments. The story applies to many people I’ve met from wealthy homes. Their parents already have a certain plan for them and don’t seem to understand when their kids want to go a different path.
4. A beautiful Mind
John Nash was one of the most beautiful minds of his generation. He saw the world in ways that nobody could imagine. The ordinary gift that set him apart, his skills in code breaking since he was the most talented mathematician, pushed his mind beyond his limits. He is to look for patterns in magazines and newspapers in order to thwart a Soviet plot. After becoming increasingly obsessive about searching for these hidden patterns he starts to believe he is followed when he delivers his results to a secret mailbox. After witnessing a shocking event, Nash is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. This movie shows how society can’t handle an outstanding mind and jump conclusions on everything they don’t understand. If people aren’t calling you crazy or other names, you might be doing something wrong.
