If you are ready to start planning a successful career you have to find your balance first. Balancing requires a leap of faith. You must trust in one leg to hold you as the other takes flight. You test the limits so you know what you are capable of and what you can achieve. Find your balance between employment and your free time, challenge and overtaxing, potential and feasibility, the desire of something new and nostalgia, your own needs and the needs of the labor market.
Know the labor market and the development of relevant industries. You must be able to obtain information specifically. Do not only search your information in the internet, library or in the media. Exchange with people! We all can learn form one and another.
Another key to prepare your successful career is to pay attention to your charisma and behavior. To behave is cool and who doesn’t is out. What do I mean by behavior? How you react under long-term stress. Whether you meet your liabilities or not. How you interact and your attitude towards others. Use your charisma to get people who already have an successful career on your side. Charismatic people are convinced of their mission and can easy inspire others. Note that a charismatics is rare someone who copies others.
Have you ever thought about it, why successful people are so successful? Therefore you should take note of them. They appear to be always confident, open and easy-going. They can also be curious, keen to learn new things but can’t be patient. Most successful people surround themselves with mentors and positive influencers who help keep them focused. They recognize that they can benefit from their wisdom. Planning a career according to your role models requires accepting your limitations and that you still need to learn more.
To prepare a career means, to set goals, to have a Plan B but not focusing too much on that. Also very important are openness and curiosity. The latter is an important trait that every entrepreneur possesses. I think everyone is in a way curious, but the difference average people and an entrepreneur are the intensity. When you are curious you will automatically ask questions, look for answers and you will also be able to see new worlds and possibilities which are normally not visible. That will bring excitement into your life. When you are open-minded you allow yourself to experience new ideas and thoughts and you challenge the beliefs and goals you currently have. Use openness to deal with situations flexibly and to not lose sight of the goal.
