Sir Ka-shing Li is a well known investor and philanthropist. The 87 year old, born on 30. January 1928 in Chaozhou – China, is celebrated for his humble ways and reputation as a business magnate. According to wikipedia:

Li Ka-shing went through what most would call hell. After losing his father before the age of 15, he was forced to drop out of school and work in a plastics trading company where he did 16 hour shifts. He quickly became an important salesman and upgraded to the position as the factory’s general manager by 19. After he had learned how to opperate a plant, he then founded a plastic manufacturing company in Hong Kong with a capital he had borrowed from friends and family. Not after too long Li Ka-shing had made a fortune in the Asian market.
The young entrepreneur couldn’t renew the lease for his company, so he was forced to find a way. The low prices and political condition of the nation by that time made him believe that investing in real estate seemed perfect. This is how the tycoon joined the investment in real estate. The journey didn’t stop there. His entrepreneurial influence involves electricity, ports, retail, asset trading, technology, internet and various other business opportunities concerning other countries such as Canada and Singapore.
Today, he enjoys his occupation as chairman of Cheung Kong Holdings, Hutchison Whampoa and Li Ka Shing foundation. In addition, he tutors his two sons, who are important business men in Hong Kong. Furthermore, he has attained the following awards and honours:
