School is a good way to gather knowledge, but it’s not the best way to learn everything. Some people spend their whole lives studying, reading books and attending seminars. But nevertheless they don’t go further nor achieve big accomplishments in life. Something important is missing.
While some people accumulate knowledge in reading books or attending various courses, they miss something very important. They miss the direct experience. Reading something and actually doing it are not the same thing. Just because you know all the rules of american football like a pro it doesn’t make you automatically a pro. To master something you’ve got to be able to do it. It’s not possible to learn something at it’s fullest without experiencing it directly.
Even if you read all the books of this world, there would still be something missing. There are things that we can’t see. How do you explain two people in the same conditions experiencing the same fate but than one decides to go on and the other gives up? It’s the lack of will respectively willpower.
You can visit all the courses of this world but if you don’t train your mind, you will not be able to provide a good output. The human mind is the source of all creation and it contains many facets in itself. Sheer willpower and endurance isn’t learned by just reading; it’s only learned by doing. You can’t achieve that in a passive way.
People who learn by doing have a deeper understanding of the things. Understanding doesn’t always mean understanding. For example everybody knows that starving is an agonizing situation. But just knowing it doesn’t give one better understanding. For someone who never experienced starvation it would just be logical, but there would be no real nor deep empathy.
Only those who actually experienced starvation can fully understand what it means. Of course this was a negative example but it’s also applicable on positive ones. If you’re reading books, visiting courses and so on, know that you also have to act. In fact you are learning in order to act, and not just to store the knowledge in a drawer afterwards. Why having all the knowledge of the world, if you don’t do nothing with it?
