Hey there! Hope you’re having an AMAZING week so far! 🙂 (I am! Haha)
So, here’s the deal; last week, I started posting on Snapchat (Mathieu_Fortin) more seriously—you should definitely follow me on there as well, since that’s where I post all the nitty-gritty stuff. And for some reason, I felt inspired to talk about how to stimulate (and/or boost) your creativity as an entrepreneur to get the million dollar ideas everyone seems to be so excited about.
Now, before we dive in the subject, you have to understand where ideas actually come from. See, I really do believe that we all have a pretty big creative potential—and I mean, an astonishing potential. Ideas, good or bad, are a byproduct of this creativity.
Take Elon Musk, for example. He’s the guy behind PayPal, Tesla Motors and Space X (to name just a few of his accomplishments). How did he manage to get all these revolutionary ideas, while most of us struggle to find the most simple forms of inspiration in our day-to-day life? Let me tell you this; it is no coincidence…
The way I see it, we all have these great (and not so great) ideas already in our mind; we just don’t know how to access them. What really makes people like Elon Musk stand out is their ability to access their full creative potential on demand (and also the fact that they know when it’s time to take action on their ideas, but I’ll get back to this a little later).
So, how can you open the doors to your own creative genius? It’s actually pretty simple. Find something creative you enjoy doing, and just do it for fun! No stress, no expectations; just have fun and focus on the present, on how good it makes you feel.
For example, I use music as my gateway to the deeper levels of my creativity. Over time, I’ve come to notice that whenever I’m involving music in my daily routine—whether it’s just listening to music or playing around with my guitar—that’s when inspiration and ideas seem to flow easily in my life. When there’s music around me, I find myself in a state of peace and awareness, where my senses seem to be connected in every possible way to what’s happening in my environment.
I think that when you allow yourself to take a break and do something fun, playful and creative, when you let go all of your thoughts and mental barriers, that’s when the aha moments will start to surface in your life. As a matter of fact, that’s how I had the idea for my next book! (Subscribe to my mailing list here to be the first informed about it!)
It’s one thing to find the actual million dollar ideas, but it’s another to have the guts to go out there and do whatever it takes to make them a reality. If you never take action on your ideas, that’s all they’re ever going to be; ideas. Some people are really good at this, and others not so much… But hey, I’m keeping this for another post! 🙂
