Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. Having said this, long term success is all about helping others while becoming better at it. It’s not really smart to live life with a self centered point of view, where gaining matters more than giving. So, what does it mean to be successful? Let’s break it down.
1. Don’t Hustle For Your Whole Life
Ever since Shawn Corey Carter or perhaps Barry Adrian Reese started using the word hustle, it became a trend. But look at their lives now. According to Forbes, rapper Jay-Z’s networth is estimated $610 million US , while Cassidy’s worth $5 million. Just like 50 cent, they got rich and stopped trying.
If you’re hustling everyday but always have to start over, you’ve got to be doing something wrong. Maybe you’re not investing your money the way you should or not grossing income in a legal way. If this situation applies to you, you’ve misunderstood the meaning of the word hustle. A hustler is a person who does everything to get money so that he or she can change their current situation. One who does everything to get money in order to live a fancy life is not a hustler. You’re just risking your freedom, health and future because you need fast money. Remember; fast money disappears as fast as it’s generated.
2. Care About Others
Make friends instead of just making customers. When someone comes to you with a problem and you don’t think you can help that person, be honest. Don’t just sell some useless items to a desperate person so that you can make money. No one will ever forget a salesman who didn’t advise them to buy something that he wasn’t selling. This tip might sound strange, but it’s the truth.
Too many people only focus on their benefits. But scamming others never comes without consequences. You might gain something right now, but what about the future? Successful people only live for the future. That’s why they invest money, start companies, attend universities and establish bonds. All of these actions will pay off someday. On the other hand, unsuccessful people live in the moment.
3. Accept The Fact That The World Owes You Nothing
The world is neither mean nor nice to you. You might be special to your mother, but not to the world. In other words, it doesn’t care about you! Get rid of the loser’s mentality and stop talking about entitlement or other things that you believe you deserve. With that being said, accept your situation and and embrace the beauty in the struggle while being aware of the ugliness in the success that you desire.
I bet you’ve watched at least one soccer game. Whenever the referee makes a decision, the by that decision negatively affected team starts arguing with him. Even though they always always argue, how many times have you ever seen a referee change is mind? If you understand this concept, you’ll understand how the world works. Next time you complain about your struggles, try to remember when the world felt sorry for you and made your life easier. It just doesn’t happen! Instead of complaining, try finding a solution!
