Maybe it’s one of the greatest paradoxes that there is, because normally one has to focus all his attention on what he wants to achieve. Funnily enough, when it comes to becoming wealthy, it’s the opposite. Let’s see why.
It’s not what you think
Many people think that accumulating money is being wealthy, but if you ask me, wealth is more than that. You could be rich but that doesn’t make you wealthy. We humans need more than just materialism and food to live and be satisfied. Apart from what meets the eye, there are non physical elements that are just as important, if not more important than anything materialistic. Being rich doesn’t automatically gives you social acknowledgement, love, respect, confidence etc.
Wealth is more likely a state of mind. If you are happy with your life, then you are also wealthy. It doesn’t matter what numbers you have on your bank account, as long as you are satisfied. Imagine being a billionaire but nobody likes you. You are always alone and can spend that money only by yourself. Do you think you’d feel well, if nobody wants to associate with you? Of course not. But in the opposite case, you’d rather be happy if you have a normal life but everybody likes and loves you.
Where your focus must be
If being rich isn’t the solution, what exactly do you have to do to be wealthy? The answer is very simple. You just need to achieve your goals. Well, by now you might be thinking, “but that’s my goal, I want to be rich, and you are telling me I can’t focus on that”. Yes that’s exactly what I’m telling you. As I told you before, many human needs can not be replaced with money. If you only focus on money, you’ll end up with an outer wealth but inner emptiness, however people rather strive for the latter.
Don’t confuse the money with your true inner needs and desires. This means for you that you need to put your focus on your true desires. You’ve probably already heard a number of successful and rich people say that they were just trying to accomplish something that they have set out to do and the money ended up following them.
By following your goals, you’ll automatically attract the things you’ll need to make them come true. By understanding this, you’ll realize that money is more likely just one of the things that you will need to be wealthy but not the goal itself. Depending on what goals you have, you will need more or less money. Not the money will satisfy you, but the achievement of your inner goals.
